1994: Professor Remus Lupin teaches Harry Potter about the Dementor's Kiss, and Harry's Firebolt is returned to him after being tested by Minerva McGonagall and Filius Flitwick. Harry and Ron Weasley make up with Hermione Granger. That evening, Scabbers disappears from Gryffindor Tower with only some ginger cat hairs left behind. Ron is now angry with Hermione because she does not take Scabbers' dissapearance seriously.

1996: Harry Potter has an Occlumency lesson in the Dungeons with Professor Severus Snape.

1970: Warwick Davis is born. He is the actor who portrays the Gringotts Goblin teller in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Professor Filius Flitwick in the whole movie adaptation of the seven Harry Potter books.

1987: Sam Parham a British parkour performer, and freerunner who will portray a Snatcher in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, is born.

1973: Adrian Annis, a British actor who portrayed a Death Eater in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, is born

1994: Harry Potter notices Cho Chang for the first time, during the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. Gryffindor wins the match, and Harry goes to bed on a high. Unfortunately, this is all brought to an abrupt end by what everyone assumes is a murder attempt by Sirius Black on Ron Weasley. In fact, he was attempting to find Peter Pettigrew in the form of Scabbers, Ron's pet rat.

According to Mugglenet, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 has past the $900 million mark!

It is now number 16 in All-Time Box Office. Woohoo!

The film has passed Chamber of Secrets and Goblet of Fire.

Lots of fans are planning on hitting the theatres and watching it one last time before it stops showing.

Harry Potter Film Wizardry

This book is another present that I got.

The book, which was designed by the artist behind the Weasley's products, the Daily Prophet, and the Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore, is extremely in depth on each of the movies that have been released.

There are things that you can take out, like a mini Marauder's Map and a Yule Ball program, and there are booklets inside, like a catalogue of the Weasley Wizard Wheezes products and a Quidditch World Cup program. Each page is colourful and has little things that fans will enjoy.

It includes inside information about almost everything in the films. It reveals some behind-the-scenes stuff about filming the Ministry scene, in Order of the Phoenix, between Helena Bonham Carter and Matthew Lewis, and an incident that involved Emma Watson during the filming of the Yule Ball scene, in Goblet of Fire.

There are drawings of costumes, concept art, photos and stills from each movie.

There are notes from the producer, David Heyman, the directors, and Stuart Craig, the production designer.

This book is another great piece of Potter magic.

Harry Potter: A Pop-Up Book

On Christmas morning, I opened a box and found this magical book inside.

It's absolutely great. The pictures are amazing and the things that you can open up or take out are stunning.

On the first page, you get an introduction in a howler. But, don't you muggles fret, it doesn't come alive or anything. It wouldn't, at least, not infront of muggles.

Throughout the book, on each page, there are one or two flaps to open or something to take out. There's a flap that opens up, on Diagon Alley, and it's Hedwig in her cage. There's another that shows the Weasley Wizard Wheezes.

The book is a wonderful collector's item or a fantastic book for fans or kids. It's just really great.

Neville Longbottom

(Don't worry, Hermione fans, I'm working on the Let's Talk About Hermione Granger)

As I have probably mentioned before, Neville Longbottom, or BAMFbottom to some fans on the internet, is my favourite character.

Why?

I loved the character from the very beginning. He was this clumsy, silly little boy with a strict gran and a lack of confidence. Early on in the story, he didn't really come off as much of a Gryffindor. He didn't do well in school either. Even before he got to school, he had already messed up a bit by losing Trevor, his toad.

It didn't really help that people, like Snape and Malfoy, were mean to him, and others, like his gran and Professor McGonagall, were rather strict.

His gran had such high expectations of him, and she was dissapointed when he wasn't living up to his father. She even thought he was a squib. (She does love him, she just wants him to do well.)

He does, however, prove that he is a Gryffindor at the end of first year. This is what solidified my love for him. He stood up to his friends and earned ten points for his house, leading to Gryffindor's win of the House Cup.

His past is usually overlooked by his peers, even though it is a tragic one. People usually don't pay much attention to him, unless he messes up (like when he let Sirius Black into their dorm by losing the passwords) and he doesn't really open up, since he is rather shy.  It isn't until the fourth book that we find out about his parents. Harry finds out that his parents were tortured to insanity, which is why Nev lives with his gran.

His improvement over the years is astounding. In Order of the Phoenix, my favourite of the series, Neville's improvement is super-awesome. He disarms someone! Dumbledore's Army helps build his confidence and his magical abilities improve.

He stands up to Bellatrix Lestrange, the witch responsible for his parents. He goes to the Yule Ball with Ginny. He DANCES. He reforms Dumbledore's Army. He gets beat up by the Carrows, and he doesn't care! He fights death eaters. He is wicked awesome at Herbology. He gets rid of the final Horcrux that helps Harry defeat Voldie.

Neville just has such an amazing story and he is an extremely well written character.

Since, I don't really want to go into it much further, I'll end with this:

1993: A trip to Hogsmeade village takes place. Fred and George Weasley give Harry Potter the Marauder's Map, in order to allow the latter to sneak into Hogsmeade. At the Three Broomsticks, Harry overhears Cornelius Fudge, Filius Flitwick, Minerva McGonagall, Rubeus Hagrid, and Madam Rosmerta discussing Sirius Black's supposed double-cross.

1994: Severus Snape gives a test on antidotes to his Fourth year students. Harry Potter asks Cho Chang and Ron Weasley asks Fleur Delacour to the Yule Ball; both were unsucessful.

1995: Harry Potter and Cho Chang share a kiss under the mistletoe after the last Dumbledore's Army meeting of the term. That night, Harry has a dream about Arthur Weasley being attacked by Nagini at the Department of Mysteries. Harry Potter and the Weasley children are sent to 12 Grimmauld Place by Portkey from Dumbledore's office.

1995: Harry Potter and the Weasleys visit Arthur Weasley at St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. There, Ron Weasley and Harry Potter meet Neville and Augusta Longbottom who are visiting Alice and Frank Longbottom.

1996: Harry Potter and Hermione Granger are kicked out of the Hogwarts Library by Irma Pince after being caught in conversation. Once back at the Gryffindor Tower, Romilda Vane tries to slip Harry a Love Potion.

Let's Talk About Hermione Granger: Part 2 - Years 1 and 2

Hermione is a really smart, talented witch. She learned all that she could before going to school. She was sorted into Gryffindor, though Terry Boot wonder why she wasn't a Ravenclaw. At Hogwarts, she shares a dorm with Parvati Patil and Lavender Brown.

She has a bit of a rough start in the beginning. She meets Ron and Harry on the train while looking for Trevor, Neville's toad. Harry and Ron a really seem to be extremely annoyed with her after having a few classes with her and other small interactions. Well, she was a  bit annoying. I was re-reading Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone, and there was a line where Harry says that he was thankful that she was ignoring them, after the Fluffy incident, since she was a bossy know-it-all. This helpful bossiness made it hard for her to make friends, which Ron so nicely pointed out, causing her to run off crying. This lead to the Golden Trio birth. After the troll, the three became good friends, even though the boys still get annoyed with her. She helped them a lot in First Year. She set Snape's robes on fire, saved a dragon, and helped protect the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone.

In second year, things weren't really any better, save the fact that she had friends now. Malfoy called her a mudblood and she faced some prejudice for being a muggleborn. She had a crush on Gilderoy Lockhart. She had brewed Polyjuice potion, which is really difficult, even for an adult wizard. The potion turned her into a cat...After she was petrified by the "great, dirty snake", she still managed to help the boys with her research.

Let's Talk About Hermione Granger: Part 1 - the Wiki Summary

Hermione Jean Weasley (née Granger), born 19 September, 1979, was the daughter of Muggles Mr. and Mrs. Granger. She learned, at the age of eleven, that she was a witch and had been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She began attending the school on 1 September 1991, when she was eleven, almost twelve, and was sorted into Gryffindor House.

An academically brilliant student, Hermione became best friends with fellow students Harry Potter and Ron Weasley in her first year of school. When they first met on the Hogwarts Express, Ron and Harry thought of her as obnoxious and self-centred, a belief that she only furthered as the school year went on, besting them in every class. However, when Ron and Harry saved her from a troll, she took the blame for them and became their friend. In her second year, Hermione was one of the victims of the basilisk that was unleashed upon Hogwarts with the opening of the Chamber of Secrets, but recovered from being petrified. The next year, Hermione was given permission to use a Time-Turner to facilitate her attending more classes than other students, and which she and Harry later used to save Sirius Black from receiving the Dementor's Kiss, and Buckbeak the Hippogriff from certain death. Hermione became an advocate for the better treatment of house-elves, forming the association S.P.E.W., in her fourth year. In 1995, she was the driving force behind the creation of Dumbledore's Army, and fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries in 1996, and in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower and the Battle over Little Whinging in 1997. Hermione, as well as Ron, decided to forgo their last year of school in order to accompany Harry on his quest to find and destroy Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes, and later fought in the Battle of Hogwarts, and survived the war.

Following the Second Wizarding War, Hermione went back to Hogwarts to complete her education, and later attained employment at the Ministry of Magic, furthering her cause for the better treatment of house-elves before gaining promotion to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. She eventually married Ron, and they have two children: a daughter called Rose as well as a son named Hugo. Hermione also became the godmother of Harry and Ginny Potter's eldest son James.

This, my friends, this is Domhnall Gleeson. He is the son of Brendan Gleeson, aka Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody. Domhnall plays the lovely Bill Weasley.

Bill and Fleur's Wedding

I went to see DH p1 again this weekend, and since this was my third time, I decided to pay a little more attention to the amazing details.
(Don't worry, if you haven't seen it. This little post only talks about a few things from Bill and Fleur's wedding.)

During Bill and Fleur's wedding, I was watching the people.

First thing, Fleur's dress was beautiful. Bill wasn't too bad looking either. (Aha, I love Domhnall Gleeson)

While Harry, as himself and not the "Weasley cousin", was talking to Elphias Doge, I started to watch one of the twins in the background, behind Great Aunt Muriel. I suppose it was Fred, due to the lack of head bandage (I don't know if George was allowed to take it off for the wedding.) Well, Fred was speaking to someone. I wonder who...

After the Patronus came to deliver the message, I was watching all of the guests' faces. Of course, a lot of the guests were scared. Some of them didn't look too phased about it, though. One of them looked a bit like they were just staring. Hermione looked great. Mrs. Weasley... I felt really bad for her. I mean, her son's wedding was crashed by death eaters.

When everyone was running, I was trying to look for familiar faces. I didn't catch where Luna and her father went. I did see Bill fighting and I'm pretty sure that someone got killed.

I still wish Charlie was there.

Speaking of Quidditch...

The Keeper guards the goal posts,

The three Chasers score goals with the Quaffle by tossing it into one of the opposing team's three goal posts,

The two Beaters keep the Bludgers away from their team and hit the Bludgers towards the opposing team,

The Seeker catches the Golden Snitch.



I missed the World Cup. I should probably search for the results.

I like playing Quidditch with my team, the Rock Cakes, even thought we aren't exactly registered or official or anything.

I play Beater, mainly, but I do switch around for Keeper and once in a while, I would be a Chaser.
